President’s Message

We are finishing our APICS Cincinnati Chapter year with a lot of activity. Our final PDM until September will take place on May 15^th. One of the Cincinnati Chapters long tenured members, Tom Wallace, a world renowned author and instructor, will speak to the group about the future of S&OP.

At this same meeting we will nominate our new Board of Director’s for the 2012-2013 APICS year, for approval by the membership in attendance. If you are interested in volunteering to serve, there are still areas of need. We’d like to introduce a few more new faces to the BOD in the next year. Please contact me immediately.

Prior to Tom’s presentation we will take care of two more items. We will honor, with a small gift of appreciation, all Chapter members that have achieved over 20 years of service in the Cincinnati chapter. We will also present scholarship awards to representatives of the University of Cincinnati’s Carl Lindner College of Business.  These scholarships are provided in honor of our longest tenured member Mr. Carl Stein. Carl has been an APICS member for 54 years and still remains active in our Chapter today. The scholarships are part of the Marvin P. Kolodzik Business Scholars Program.

We’ve had another good year with membership slightly up. A lot of credit is due to Alan Joseph’s program of sending reminders to lapsed members. Attendance at PDM’s is up due to the efforts of Sandy Cammack. Sandy found great speakers, coordinated with other professional organizations to conduct two joint meetings and everyone has commented about how nice and convenient the venue, Kingsgate Marriott is. Ron Althaus and the Education team have had a solid lineup of certification classes throughout the year. We feel like we listened and acted upon the survey results that we compiled last year by Joe Fishback, Joe Zambon and Mike Deger. Lastly, I need to thank Shelly Hoesl, who took on the new website design and implementation followed immediately by volunteering to handle the Secretary and Treasurer roles for the chapter.
